Sejm Polonia Committee: Deputy Chairman Lipinski's Teleconference with Washington Polonia
Adam Lipinski, Deputy Chairman of the Sejm's Committee for Contact with Poles Abroad, held a teleconference with Washington Polonia on April 28 to discussion cooperation between Poland and the Polish-American Community.
Lipinski emphasized that American Polonia is a key partner for U.S.-Polish relations and in supporting Poland's cooperation with Polish communities in Eastern Europe.
He added that Poland's "Polonia policy" has room for improvement, especially in regard to American Polonia.
Washington Polonians stressed the need for better contact between the Sejm and American Polonia and expressed strong support for proposals to increase the number of Sejm deputies that world Polonia would elect.
Commenting on the teleconference, Lipinski said is was "a very useful discussion."
The discussion, which originally was to take place in person, was changed to a teleconference when inclement weather prevented Lipinski's travel to Washington.
